I answered your question about rape culture with an entire 10-minute explanation. What about that didn't you understand?

I’m not going to read any of that horseshit. It goes against CDC and FBI statistics and is driven by misogyny. As already linked to you, about 35% of college men have either admitted to essentially raping someone or have said they would if they could do it without repercussions. This is self-reported data. If you introduce the word rape, they get a bit squirrelly but describing legal definitions of rape without using that word feels fine to them as just what men do to go after what they want.

The Nordics are better than the rest of the Western democracies but they still come out of a patriarchal history. They still have a huge problem with sexual violence and with outdated cultural norms around that.

So, Denmark is better in that it teaches empathy, competing against your own past performance, and looking at your sex partner as a person — but this is not enough to completely dismantle patriarchal norms that were full-on just 50 years ago. It’s a step in the right direction, but it’s not a panacea. I never said that it was — but it is nonetheless a path forward. And WTF are you asking me “why Denmark” when I linked you several stories as to why? Don’t act like I haven’t provided you with sufficient information (spoon-fed, most of the time). If you can’t be bothered to read it, that’s not my problem.

All Nordic countries still expect women to do the bulk of the home and child care. It’s better than other places but not as idealized as it is sometimes made out to be. Women tend to go into public service work where they are more likely to have flexible hours and the ability also to uphold the rest of their expected responsibilities while also working outside the home.

Women are still expected to be primary caregivers of children and the elderly and to care for the home. Many who can afford help choose not to, because there is a degree of stigma attached to outsourcing household chores in Scandinavia. Even the region’s most high-profile influencer and businesswoman, Isabella Löwengrip, faced criticism when she hired a personal assistant after divorcing her husband.

Iceland had another “women’s strike” in 2023 to remind the nation's men about what happened during the one of 1975 because they had apparently forgotten how integral women are to making everyday life work. It’s the most gender-equal Western democracy in the world and there’s still a pay gap, still lingering patriarchal views. It’s absurd!

Pretending that there are actually fewer social prescriptions in any Western culture is a myth. But, what we also see throughout history is that women have always been big game hunters, professional warriors, pirates, businesswomen, lawyers, and judges, as well as medical and spiritual leaders. That only changed 6–9k years ago with the onset of patriarchy.

Again, WTF is actually wrong with you? Rape is rampant on college campuses. RAINN says, “Among undergraduate students, 26.4% of females and 6.8% of males experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation.”

https://www.apa.org/apags/resources/campus-sexual-assault-fact-sheet

Rates of sexual assault victimization are particularly high among female college students, where up to 25% of female college students reported being victims of CSA (Cantor et al., 2017). In addition, college women disproportionately experience CSA during the Red Zone. Specifically, college women in their first year have reportedly been at the highest risk for sexual assault compared to other college women after their first year, including drug-and-alcohol facilitated sexual assault as well as attempted or completed forcible rape (Krebs et al., 2007). The deleterious mental health consequences of sexual assault among college women have been documented.

Do you not know that women have to guard their drinks because spiking them is rampant? Not just college women…

Again, why do I have to bring this to your attention? If you weren’t a part of the problem, you’d already know and understand this stuff. Not because you are doing it, but because you are intentionally turning a blind eye to it — which has largely the same effect. If you actually cared about a better culture you’d already be well aware of all of this and not spend any of your time being defensive and obfuscating and asking me to somehow “prove” that there are massive problems.

Edit: And if you listened to The Macho Paradox, why are you asking me what a rape culture is? He talks about it in detail.
