I can't account for that particular person's behavior but I will tell you that most of the time when women want to talk about the things they face in this society, a whole bunch of guys attack them. The only thing worse than having something bad happen to you is having other people tell you to shut up about it or it's not so bad.

My recommendation to you would be to spend most of your time listening rather than trying to engage in conversations about a topic you are just beginning to learn about.
