I clearly said more than once throughout the story that male violence against women remains a huge problem but what the new studies show is that the amount of sexual violence by women against men is not the small fraction that it's been made out to be. I care about all sexual violence, and I'd hope that you would too. It's not a contest - we don't have to pick a side. Tackling this troublesome issue means looking at the true picture.
As I said in my last paragraph:
Male-perpetrated sexual victimization finally came to public attention after centuries of denial and indifference, thanks to women’s rights advocates and the anti-rape movement. Attention to sexual victimization perpetrated by women should be understood as a necessary next step in continuing and expanding upon this important legacy.
