I come from a social science background and a lot of what I write on Medium is about patriarchy as a pyramid-shaped dominance hierarchy, where actually its only a few elites who have the most power and authority. To large extent, men and straight white men, in particular, turn a blind eye to how they are cogs in the wheel of the elites because in return they get social position over women and others further down the hierarchy. As this has eroded over the past 50 years, at least some of those guys have started to blame the marginalized classes who have gained some power rather than who they ought to blame - those at the very top of the pyramid.
I don't know if this interests you, but here's something I wrote about that recently in case you are.

Keep up the good work. Yours is a much appreciated voice that tries really hard to be both sensible, real, and balanced.
