I completely agree that Cheney and Kinzinger need to be applauded for doing what is right. That's why I ended this piece by quoting Mitt Romney about how they deserve "honor for seeking truth even when doing so comes at great personal cost."

And, I think it's valuable to try to understand why people do what they do - beyond simply pointing fingers at how corrupt and self-serving the RNC appears by making this move.
