I didn't say "believe all women" - the phrase is "believe women" meaning stop discounting them out of hand. We should believe victims of all crimes up until such time as an investigation indicates that we shouldn't. Right now, a huge percentage of women (and men) are not believed at all when they report sexual misconduct in a way that is very different than if they were reporting any other crime. We don't keep the names of other accused criminals private until such time as they are actually convicted so I don't see that as an option.
I have a female friend who was falsely accused of a serious crime. She was arrested, lost her job, her mug shot appeared on TV, and eventually she was vindicated (after about a year of hell). So, you have my sympathy but as unfair as it is to those unjustly accused, the vast majority of alleged crimes are legitimate accusations. There should be real consequences for those who make false accusations, but we need to initially believe all those making a complaint - not just every other crime, except for sexual ones.
