I didn't say that all men who consider themselves alpha ARE jerks, just that today many people find that sort of ultra-competitiveness to be somewhere between silly and offensive and that "amongst a lot of people in the US, acting like an "alpha" is seen as acting like a jerk." It doesn't mean they necessarily are.
