I don't have any substantive arguments with any of this, but it doesn't exactly square with your constant offense whenever I criticize the destructive aspects of patriarchy. Mussolini made the trains run on time. I don't find the need to focus on that when pointing out the rest of his flaws.

You've got some sort of emotional sore spot that feels attacked when ever a woman criticizes patriarchy and you're not owning up to it (although it bleeds through constantly). I'm a social scientist. I talk about the facts of things, as well as the ways that the dynamics those facts create affect us. A lot of that is for the purposes of identifying current problems spots so that we can address them (since one can hardly address issues one doesn't recognized as problematic). It doesn't make any sense whatsoever for somebody who actually cares about gender equity to have their Penguin panties in a bunch so often about that. You talk about working cooperatively as desirable and yet, you were incensed yesterday that I dared to posit that working cooperatively was actually better than authoritarian hierarchies based on intimidation and traditional power.

"but you do a good job of layering your pieces with the undefinable whiff that the egalitarianism of old is preferable to what we have now because patriarchy is terrible."

How on earth am I supposed to have a reasonable discussion with some bird who talks out of both sides of his beak like that?

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
