I don't know how I got to be so fortunately, but I have a partner who listens to me with empathy when I'm down, often with a hand on my heart, just trying to connect to where I'm hurting and offer solidarity. I do the same for him. Such men do exist, but you're right that they are not as plentiful as most women would hope for.

It sounds like a beautiful event that you went to, but I think most things are more complex than they seem. There is a high percentage of domestic abuse in lesbian relationships, so perhaps not always as idyllic as the one that you observed, which did sound quite sweet and supportive.
