I don't know - I was a child when that movie first came out and I never really liked it that much - although the music is great. I never saw it as Sandy becoming who she really was but instead she seemed to be conforming to a "cooler" more sexually alluring and available person in order to please a man. Maybe I had it wrong, but even as a child, that's how it always struck me.
