I don't know what the actual truth is in this case, but I'd just like to say that someone not behaving the way you think or expect that they will is not necessarily an indication of anything at all. Do you remember Amanda Knox, the American convicted in Italy a few years back of murdering her roommate? She was suspected and then convicted primarily on the fact that she didn't behave how other people thought she should. There wasn't really any physical evidence against her. But the fact that she did not fit society's expectations of how a young woman should behave in those circumstances was used to convict her of murder. It's a dangerous game to make assumptions about people because they don't do what you think they should under the circumstances.

It's well documented that women (people) who have been sexually assaulted and experienced other violence often don't behave the way investigators think or expect that they should and that has been used for years to discredit survivors. We are only now beginning to learn about some of these variables are a symptom of trauma, and the way that the brain deals with and processes it - which may vary from person to person.

As I said, I'm not necessarily saying that you are wrong - just that I think it's tricky to make these calls based on that alone. The fact that Depp's paid experts, who spent little time with Heard, diagnosed her with things that make her seem even less believable is the nature of "expert" witnesses in trials. It doesn't necessarily make it true. All expert witnesses are paid to find things favorable to their client.

"In the past decade, neurobiology has evolved to explain why victims respond in ways that make it seem like they could be lying, even when they’re not."

Something that we do know is true is that the right-wing outlet Daily Wire has poured tens of thousands of dollars into promoting false content demonizing Heard and “vindicating” Depp. (At one point, the site proclaimed that Depp had disproven “12 of the 14 allegations” against him. They then ran a brief correction noting that he had not, in fact, disproven any of them.) The apparent goal is to fuel a #MeToo backlash by painting the relationship as “mutually abusive." So, there are many facets to this story, and more than one thing in play.

Again, I'm not claiming to know what the actual truth is in all of this, but I also don't think that you - or any other outside observer does either.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
