I don't know why this is so difficult for some people - particularly men. They seem to want to be told how to be men, rather than how to follow their own hearts around being a good person. Perhaps it's because we live in a dominance hierarchy and being male still has perks they aren't sure they want to give up by just being a person, rather than a man?
I studied Tai Chi for many years and I love all this aspect of flow and beingness that is perhaps a bit confronting to a "work ethic" culture of striving. I had not ever read Mitchell's translation, but I'm going to check it out now. I know he is married to Byron Katie - of the self inquiry method called The Work, which is really great stuff as well.
Thanks for the shout out and the interesting essay.
