I don't see it as asking men to save us. I think we've been doing that for the past 50+ years and it hasn't gotten us very far. I see asking men to step up and essentially save themselves (which will do the trick for us as well) as a way for women to step back from begging men to care and begging men to change things. But this can go on at the same time that women continue to create women-centered spaces and communities because all of this is not going to happen quickly or easily.
