I entirely agree that reworking the larger culture is imperative, but what’s the point of laws if you can’t hold individuals responsible for the ways that they break these laws?

Not that long ago a man who admitted to raping a 14 year old girl got no jail time. Although there was a public outcry, this judge may or may not lose his job and the perpetrator got only probation.
