I get what you are saying here, and China has certainly been a patriarchal country for thousands of years. But, at the same time, many Taoists consider Yin to be stronger than Yang. The ocean can wear away a stone more effectively and more relentlessly than a sword.

I don't have all the answers on this either, or know how can we truly separate out the patriarchal aspects? Still, very good questions to be asking.
