I have a friend who is 35, divorced, and never, ever intending to get married again. She has no interest in children, but still can't get a tubal ligation because she's young enough that some imaginary future husband might want her to have children. It's unfortunate that we still need to call out this sort of BS, but it's also necessary. Thanks for doing just that. I think you've really hit the nail on the head.
