I hear this myth all of the time. So do many other people I know. If you haven't heard it, that is neither here nor there. Here's one of the other comments from this story:

Just because something is biologically possible doesn't make it an evolutionary trait - which is what the assertion is - it has to have some real world application and this one most assuredly does not. I didn't say it was impossible, I said that it was so unlikely that it couldn't possibly indicate anything about evolutionary fitness or inherent male promiscuity...
