I heard Dan Savage say pretty much the same thing the other day. He suggest that we "run at" potential rejection rather than trying to stave it off as long as possible because it's infinitely better to know early on whether or not you are compatible. This makes it more likely that you will actually get to cultivate a relationship with someone who is good match for you. Good for you and keep enjoying your life!
