I know several people who practice Wicca (as it's now known) and identify as witches. I have no illusions that the end of scapegoating of those with less social power is near or that lies told for political ends will soon be a thing of the past. Still, there's a difference between lying about someone's reputation (which is also unacceptable) and torturing them into an admission that gets them burned at the stake
