I love this! Part of the deal with the shift to patriarchy about 6-8k years ago was that women became essentially social children - under the protection and guidance of first fathers and then husbands. It was only about 50 years ago that this began to be dismantled. For the first time, women could get their own home loans and credit cards in their own name. They couldn't be fired for being pregnant or not hired in the first place simply for being women. It's vital to actual equality that women be allowed their full agency and autonomy to manage their own lives. That being said, we all need a safe space where we can get comfort, ask for advice, or otherwise take a pause from constantly having to prove that we should be taken seriously. Men need this space space as well - it's a part of what being in a close and loving relationship is all about.
