I might as well say it before someone else does, but the recent incident where the woman was raped on the subway and no-one even used their phone to call for help will be cited as an example of how what you are saying isn't quite true. I agree that many people freeze in a shocking situation, and that certainly not everyone is equipped to offer assistance in all cases. Overwhelmingly, I think you are correct and agree with much that you've said. And, someone could have used their phone to video the attack, to call the police, or something. It went on for a long time. What's your assessment of that particular case? Oh, and thanks for clearing up the Kitty Genovese thing.
