I mostly agree. Both boys and girls need a variety of adults in their lives and that is very cool the wide array of role models and influences you had. I'm still unclear how or why a boy needs a male role model. To teach him what exactly? How to fit into the gender boxes we have constructed in our culture? I think children need people to show them how to be good human beings and to support them in being whatever sort of flavor of person they naturally are. There are millions valid ways to be a man, why does a boy need someone to show him what their version is? Why do we need to further indoctrinate children into gender constructs? It's another one of those cultural narratives that doesn't make sense to me.
