I refer you again to Dr. King and his highly effective rhetoric. I'm not going to sugarcoat and coddle so that people who are demonstrably working against my interests and the interests of society at large can feel less threatened by my unwillingness to suffer at their hands any longer.

And what have I actually said that is the least bit belligerent? I've quoted well-accepted sociological and psychological truths in a highly balanced way in service of helping men to better help themselves - and the rest of us in the bargain. I’ve invoked the work of men whose life’s work is helping other men suffer less in this culture. What exactly is wrong with that?

Edit: OK, let’s cut through the noise here… What exactly is the “appropriate” way to make men aware of the fact that the way they have been socialized to behave since birth is literally killing them, as well as driving a huge number of our social problems? How should a plea to men to work together to improve this situation — both for themselves and for us all sound?

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
