I respect your right to make whatever choices you want to for your family, but it absolutely was devastating and horrendous to have the male-dominated government take away the right for me to make my own medical decisions and have less body autonomy than a dead person. And FYI, all the women in my friends group and acquaintanceship felt exactly the same way. Some had to go to bed for a couple of days because they just couldn't function. To you, this is a somewhat abstract concept. Nobody was taking away your most personal rights- but to us, it's quite visceral and the very clear message that we are disposable. The wound gets healed when women get treated as real people on par with men.
