I see this type of behavior as another manifestation of the dominance hierarchy. The thinking seems to be that if I show you that I’m better than you, you’ll want to be with me. There is something to be said for the confidence of bad boys and there are some women who are insecure enough to fall for this. But the vast majority of them won’t and are instead shaking their heads at the growing evidence they have that most men are pond scum. There are good men in the world, but the guys who obliviously behave this way aren’t helping to remind women of that.
