I so agree with this, but we've been entrenched in this other sort of system for thousands of years and have kind of forgotten that. I love the meme!
It's really hard for many people to let go of the ultra-competitive aspect because they've been so indoctrinated into it that to back away feels to many that they are accepting the "loser" position in the zero-sum dynamic if they do so. I worked for 13 years for a non-profit organization that was run by these partnership principles and it really was great. Then we got a bunch of new board members (all women) who came from corporate America who really, really didn't understand this organizational style and completely eviscerated it because to their eye it didn't look efficient and there wasn't enough hierarchical oversight (the board trusting the staff to do their thing) and so I left. It was very sad to see that happen, but I do know that in some places in the business world this is being embraced because it's a lot more agile. My hope is that if it works well enough to improve the bottom line that it will become more common in business and perhaps eventually seep out into other areas of life as well.
