I spent my childhood in Hawaii, a place where white people are the minority. Most people are some mix of Asian and Polynesian, and although it’s still a very Anglo-centered place in many ways, the pride in Hawaii and the native language/culture is also very strong. I consider it such an advantage to have gotten to experience that.
