I take that as a complement. 🌶️ It is my intention to be both unflinching in describing the things that are problematic while at the same time inviting us all to participate in creating solutions. I'm having meaningful productive dialogue about this stuff all the time. I'm also giving no quarter to the guys who say, "I didn't do anything" or "It's really not so bad."

We've only had a patriarchal dominance hierarchy system for about 3% of history, so it's hardly inevitable. I'm not saying it would be easy to shift away from, in part because it dovetails so nicely with predatory capitalism, but there are things we could do nonetheless. Denmark teaches empathy in schools, and encourages kids to complete primarily against themselves and not their peers. These skills are viewed as integral to being good managers and business leaders later in life and their economy reflects that. It's one of the strongest in the world, while also a nation with a very high rate of happiness. We can do better - we just have to want to.
