I think most people (and certainly most men) believe that they are analytical beings who subscribe to 19th century beliefs about thought and being a "rational" person. They've been taught that they are logical (and not swayed by their emotions like a girl) and that they should always be in control. Ironically, the less you know how to understand and regulate your emotions, the more driven you are by them from behind the scenes - something we see with far too many men. I hear nearly every day from guys who are sure they are logical (in ways that women aren't 🙄) and that they alone make their way in the world - rather than the cultural forces around them also having immense impact. If you are well aware that subconscious impulses play a large part in your life, you are well ahead of the pack.
