I think she's very clearly a strong person - one who has been unsupported and trashed by The Firm secretly via the tabloids - they didn't have the guts to do it openly. And she decided she wasn't going to stand for that. It doesn't mean she's perfect, because ya know, human being, but there is no question in my mind that she is extremely strong.
