I think that's a good assessment and that patriarchy is largely to blame for that. We all uphold that social system to some extent, but when will men finally start taking it on because they need to lead the way on that front? It teaches them to be insecure and fragile at the same time that they are often entitled and petulant. It's a terrible mix that serves absolutely nobody at all. I'd honestly like to see masculinity be actually strong, actually tough, actually self-responsible. I know a few men like that. I'm married to a man like that, but JFC it's not the norm. I know that the culture doesn't largely support that, but why are there so many men actively resisting making that better?
