I think this is a huge aspect of what is going on. For 10K years, women have been giving free labor to raise children and maintain homes, and now that they are more in the paid workforce, they still overwhelmingly have to do this as a second shift, and they are sick of it. Women are starting to realize that what they've always been told about the fulfillment that comes from being a wife and mother is not enough. It can be an important and fulfilling role, but mostly not when that is the only thing in their lives. Only when this starts to be addressed and the culture supports children and families more will this dynamic shift.
