I think this is only true amongst people who are hiding their misogyny or their general misanthropist tendencies behind these claims because all sorts of major heavy hitter song writers have praised her skill and talent as a song writer. Dolly Parton called Swift the best of her era and Dolly knows good song writing. Swift has successfully transitioned from country to pop to indie rock and managed to not only keep her old fans and still sound like herself, but to keep growing her popularity.

When stars as diverse as David Draiman (of Disturbed) Paul Stanley (of KISS), rapper Rick Ross, Billie Joe Armstrong (of Greenday), Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, and Reba McIntyre all praise her, I think that her skill as a song writer and performer are not actually in dispute.

And, I think you analysis of where this comes from is spot on. Some women don't like her either, but it's kind of for these same general reasons - too pretty, too talented, too rich, and they think it's cool not to like someone like that who is beloved by millions - in part because she's widely recognized as being very nice and down to earth. Whatever.... like or don't like, show some effing respect for all that she's accomplished due to talent, hard work, resilience, and business acumen.

Frothing at the mouth about her and holding her to double standards is just pretty transparent and pretty pathetic.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
