I think this is the lynchpin of how ENM has the potential to create much closer and healthier relationships than most monogamous ones. When you are forced by social convention to keep a part of yourself hidden from your partner because it's not "socially acceptable" it can only lead to distance. Being able to tell your partner absolutely anything, leads to a closer bond.
