I think what I write challenges patriarchy, which includes inherent male supremacy, so some of it is that a woman is telling them something they didn't know before and some of it is that I'm telling them that male supremacy is brand new, which this type of insecure guy doesn't like to hear. But, it clearly pokes some emotional place, because they can't really come up with substantive challenges - only tertiary ones.
