I was blonde all my life and then eventually it started turning a terrible dishwater color, so I started highlighting. I tried to embrace it, but I just "look more like myself" as a blonde, although I do have some grey around my temples which I don't worry about too much -it tends to show even with the highlights. If I could get to the point where it was all silver, I'd totally stop coloring, but I know I'm not there yet.
I have a friend who is younger than I am by quite a bit who is considering Botox. I'd never do anything like that. I want to look like a person, not a plastic doll. It's not my goal to look young, but I do still want to look my best, working with what I've got. It's hard to unplug entirely from caring about that.
