I was realizing today that a significant amount of what I write is corrections to completely off-base cultural narratives. The words myth, trope, and wrong appear in many of my headlines. Some of it I write just so I don’t have to keep typing out the same things over and over again, and can just link or excerpt a story that I’ve already written.

I’m working on a piece now about how so much that is often touted about evolutionary psychology is just flat out wrong, as per current science. I’m going to use some of your links as supports.

I used to joke that I was going to become a porn producer later in life, after I’ve retired, just to get some better quality stuff out there. I find most of it largely boring or frustrating because it wouldn’t take that much to make it so much better. Perhaps that’s how I ended up writing erotica? There is some female directed, and/or made with women in mind porn out there, but since porn is now so ubiquitous, you have to really seek it out. I think a lot of men just have low standards and are fine with bad porn, so there isn’t much incentive to do better. 😆
