I was teasing you — that’s why I winked, although it’s still my contention that if anyone takes a story that is full of quotes from scientific studies as anti-scientific, that is their own emotional response in play. The people most likely to do that, in my experience, are men because they are less likely to have much familiarity with their emotional landscape because they’ve been socialized to repress it.

I experience the butt end of this every single day, and I’m guessing you do too if you are complaining about commenters. I very rarely get it from women. They are much less likely to spew emotion-laden crap and pretend that it’s logical and rational. Men do that around me every single day. It’s quite tiresome.
