I was telling this same friend that I mentioned in the story about how we'd taken the proceeds from my mother's house and bought an investment/vacation property that is less than five miles from where we currently live. We're going to rent it to my BIL, but also have a room in it that is ours. As I said to her, "We just don't really do things the way other people do." But I'm really OK with that. 😁
