I wasn't speaking about you or what you said. I was saying that I also experience the sorts of things that Shannon does. Her entire OP was about the vitriol that she gets directed at her on a regular basis - including death threats. The fact that you seem to think she's making that up or that she should accept that graciously in some sort of twisted bid for "reconcilliation" is perhaps a greater problem then the men who actually say the hateful things. If you want to create a better world you should be standing up against this sort of behavior that is so often directed at women, rather than excusing it or asking women to accept it.
The "powers that be" are the trappings of a patriarchal society. Standing up against that includes calling out people who believe their slot in the dominance hierarchy entitles them to publicly abuse others with no repurcussions. Reconcilliation can take place when bad behavior ceases, and not before.
