I watched a friend of mine challenge a guy on this recently. He was up in arms about feminism so she asked him calmly and in a measured way what his thoughts were on the "appropriate" way for women to speak up and advocate around the systemic issues that they face. He bobbed and weaved and obfuscated and evaded over and over because he didn't have any thoughts on this - he just wanted women to sit down and shut up.
