I wonder about that too, since there is so little sex education of any kind, much less the frank and honest kind where kids and particularly LGBTQ+ kids could ask these kinds of questions. If most people are learning about love from Hollywood constructs and sex from porn, it’s not really a recipe for healthy, adult connections.
I don’t have anything against porn from a moral standpoint, but I do have concerns about it normalizing violence against women (and others) in a sexual context and also just plain teaching bad sex. Even for people who understand that it’s entertainment and not meant to be a depiction of real life, if those are the scenarios that you are the most exposed to, it will impact your thinking and beliefs. That’s just the way that our brains work.
