I'd love to see a story from you exploring the "why am I not a lesbian" question. Other than the most obvious answer that you are attracted to who you are attracted to, regardless of who you think you "should" be attracted to, I think there's still a lot to talk about.
You mentioned something about women being too soft, and for me that's a factor as well, not so much the physical part, but the personality. The first girlfriend I/we had, was very, very feminine and although she was beautiful and fun to play with, I realized after we moved away that I wanted someone with a lot more masculine energy - not masculine looking, but a very confident, more go-get 'em energy, and the girlfriend I/we have now really fits that bill. It's not that the first one was a push-over, but she was just too energetically soft for my taste.
