If you're so one-dimensional and fatalistic that the only authentic iteration of you is the one that wears sweatpants and has crackers in his beard, then yeah, you'll probably never attract anyone - or have a decent job. Most other people have multiple authentic versions of themself and can move back and forth between them. The person wearing pajamas and no makeup who is typing this to you is the exact same person who can take a shower and put on a ballgown if she chooses. The same goes for absolutely everyone else. Circumstances don’t define who you are as a person. Somebody currently living on the streets is not inherently an unhoused person in some immutable way. If he figures out how to get himself a place to live, does that mean he isn’t being true to his real self? Give me a break…
