I'll have a look at those but I've never seen anything that purported ancient warfare that had a leg to stand on other than the assumption that patriarchal norms must've always existed. First off, what was there to fight about? Incredibly low population density, ample food, kin in neighboring bands. Why would you endanger your life and the survival of your tribe to fight when you didn't need to? Plus, all mammals are highly reluctant to kill each other. And, if we know enough about Neanderthals to know what they ate and what kind of tools they made, where is all the archeological evidence of war because it doesn't exist.
Jebel Sahaba is pretty widely accepted to be the first evidence of any sort of mass conflict - and that's only from 13k years ago.
Not sure if you saw this at the time it was published but if not, you may want to check it out.
