I'm 57 years old and although I recognize that people do say shitty things about women over 40 I guess it's so far from my lived experience of what it's like to be me that I mostly don't pay much attention to it. It just seems kind of pathetic and absurd like something a man would say because they are bitter about white men losing cultural centrality. This has been my best decade yet, and I'm thinking the next one is going to be pretty good too, so to me it's just all gum flapping. Some man told me in a comment a while back that I was old and I thought "You're trying to make me feel bad about something that I don't feel bad about because you can't refute the substance of what I've said." And it just struck me as so toothless and lame. It really kind of made me laugh. I guess us old biddies really are scary.
