I’m a little biased I suppose, but I think it’s a great field that can be very empowering to clients, but also immensely satisfying to coaches to walk with people as they transform their lives. People who are selling programs aren’t actual life coaches — one of the downsides of a non-regulated industry. It’s an art and not a science and it takes time and practice to learn the art, but it’s also based on some simply principles, so not rocket science either.
I would recommend two books to you: Co-Active Coaching and Life Coaching: A Manual For Helping Professionals.
There are lots of good training programs out there now and many of them are virtual, so it doesn’t have to be in your city. Again, if it’s an ICF accredited training program, you really can’t go wrong. Have fun and let me know if you have further questions❣️
