I’m a married woman who didn’t take my husbands last name so I am a de facto Ms. I agree that teaching kids that a woman’s marital status is important to know in a way that a man’s isn’t sends the wrong message. It would be great if there was some word kind of like professor that could apply to everyone. People could use whatever they like in their private lives. Sadly, I don’t see that happening any time soon.
