I'm a social scientist with 20 years of study in this field and a fuck-ton of expertise. You are guy with some opinions. Forgive me if I don't just take you at your word that I don't actually know what I'm talking about.

My husband was in the corporate world for 30 years. Do you know how many fucking retreats he had to go on where they talked about trusting each other, working as a team, and all that other corporate feel good BS that almost nobody actually puts into real practice? Too many to count. They read books, they worked with coaches, and nothing ever changed because fundamentally, nobody really wants to challenge the dominance hierarchy. One guy's Medium story does not negate that.

I have enjoyed many of our chats, but I have to tell you that I am no longer in the headspace to constantly be challenged on my area of expertise by someone who just kind of wants to be a good natured curmudgeon. I like you and think of you as a kind of friend, but I'm not going to do this any longer. It's not just you - it's the general tenor of men on Medium, and I'm stepping back from it for my own mental and emotional health.
