I'm just over 6 ft. so I totally resonated with this story. I grew 5 inches between 5th and 6th grade and finally stopped growing in 10th grade - although that doesn't stop people who haven't seen me in a while to ask if I've grown (even though I'm 60). 🙄

It's a very othering experience to be a tall woman in a culture where women are supposed to be dainty and not take up much space, and to CONSTANTLY be reminded of that. But, it taught me from a young age to not invest too much energy in trying to fit in because there was no way that I could. That turned out to be a plus later on.
